Opioid Settlement Updates: Critical Deadline

March 30, 2025 is a crucial date for counties’ opioid settlement activities for multiple reasons. Not only is the next Opioid Abatement Trust Fund allocation and spending report due on March 30, this is also the deadline for allocating funds from 2023. If your county has any opioid abatement funding from 2023 that has not yet been allocated, contact your regional UT SMART consultant. We can help you identify spending priorities and assist with reporting to the OAC.

- East: Sarah McCall, mccall@tennessee.edu
For the reporting, a fillable report form will be emailed to each county at least 30 days before the due date. The OAC has provided materials and information for filling out the semiannual reports:
- This webinar covering instructions for filling out the report.
- When completing the semiannual report, please use the format from this list to sort activities by the six strategies: Primary Prevention, Harm Reduction, Treatment, Recovery Support, Education & Training for Research, or Evaluation of Abatement Strategy Efficacy.
- A copy of the report template is available at this link for informational purposes. However, please use the fillable form that will be emailed to you.
Finally, you will also receive next year’s letter of agreement in March 2025. This must be signed and returned to receive 2025’s allocation payment from the state Opioid Abatement Trust Fund. Be on the lookout for that email as well.
For questions about these payments, please email oac.tncounty@tn.gov.
