Rocky Top Recovery Logo

The Student Recovery Ambassador is a pilot program funded by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to increase awareness and decrease stigma related to substance use and mental health disorders on college campuses.  The Rocky Top Recovery Ambassadors will host sober events, recruit students to attend educational sessions, and use social media marketing campaigns to change perceptions increase knowledge.  The Ambassadors themselves are active students at UT Knoxville, and identify either as being in recovery or having had long-term mental health treatment.

The first event the Ambassadors helped organize is called a Rockin’ Night of Recovery, which is a concert open to students featuring the band Wasted Major on October 19th.  Follow them on Instagram for more information!
